Peter Anton Najjar

Dr. Najjar is the Medical Director of Clinical Operations for Johns Hopkins Medicine’s Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality, responsible for system-wide operational oversight, program-building, and clinical innovation. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Ravitch Division of Colorectal Surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, specializing in complex and robotic colorectal surgery. He completed his surgical training at Harvard’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, where he also completed the Harvard Medical School Fellowship in Patient Safety and Quality and served as a senior quality consultant. He received his B.S. summa cum laude from the University of California, Davis, M.D. from the University of Chicago, and M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. Dr. Najjar also serves on multiple boards, including Safetower Inc, an artificial intelligence-enabled patient safety platform, as well as Priority Partners, the largest Medicaid managed care organization in Maryland.
