Neelam Dhingra-Kumar

Dr Neelam DHINGRA, MD, heads WHO Flagship “A Decade of Patient Safety 2021-2030” at WHO HQ, Geneva. In this role, Dr DHINGRA leads global efforts in providing strategic leadership on patient safety within the context of UHC and health security. This includes implementation of WHA resolution ‘Global Action on Patient Safety’, ‘Global Patient Safety Action Plan 2021-2030’, World Patient Safety Day, Global Patient Safety Challenge: Medication Without Harm; Global Patient Safety Network; Leadership and Safety Culture; Engaging Patients for Patient Safety; Education and Training; Adverse event Reporting and Learning. Dr DHINGRA joined WHO Geneva in 2000 and led WHO Blood Safety unit till 2014, and heading the Patient Safety unit since 2015. Dr DHINGRA was a faculty member in a university hospital in New Delhi for 14 years, also coordinating transfusion services, after MBBS from Lady Hardinge Medical Collage, MD from AIIMS, New Delhi and UK fellowships for 2 years.
