Salim AlWahabi

Dr. Al-Wahabi is the Director General at the Saudi Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI). His remarkable 26-year journey in the healthcare field began as a General and Endocrine Surgeon at prestigious institutions, including Prince Sultan Medical City and various Ministry of Health hospitals, where he served diligently from 1997 to 2009. He was appointed as an Advisor to the Vice Minister of Health (2009 – 2012). In 2012, he embarked on his current role at CBAHI, where his contributions continue to shape the healthcare landscape. Dr. Al-Wahabi possesses a unique blend of medical, surgical, healthcare quality, leadership and patient safety education and training. He is a Board-Certified General Surgeon with specialized training in breast and endocrine oncology surgery, having received a prestigious French Fellowship. Additionally, he holds a master's degree in healthcare quality and patient safety from the National University of Ireland. Furthermore, Dr. Al-Wahabi is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and a master black belt six sigma trainer, His influence extends worldwide through his role as a WHO Consultant in Healthcare Quality and Patient Safety since 2016 Dr. Al-Wahabi also completed the esteemed Cambridge University Advanced Leadership Program. He also serves as a board member in The International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua), showcasing his influential role in healthcare quality and patient safety.
